Day Eighteen
We walked to Elina's ballet class. I love watching her concentrate as she works to get things "just so". She stands tall and lifts her arms in the air and balances on just the balls of her feet. At first this meant wobbling all over, but now she can hold this pose with measured elegance. A girl waiting for her class to start played with Gage as he rolled a car and a train on the floor. Her smile was the kind that lights up everything around her.
As we were leaving we ran into our friends who were going out to their new property. So we got Gage's car seat and went with them. The new farm (which is actually very old) was so peaceful. The fields were covered in little purple vetch, the scotch broom was brilliantly yellow, and the sky dark blue with fluffy white clouds. My friend's boys showed us a salamander they found while the troughs were being cleaned in preparation of the delivery of their first cows!
